Job summary

Edison Scientific seeks a Senior AI Engineer to lead AI agent development for biology projects, collaborating with postdoctoral Fellows and researchers. You will design, build, and deploy AI tools, and help researchers apply AI to neuroscience, genetics, and related fields.

You will also teach and coach Fellows, creating practical tutorials and workshops to bridge frontier AI capabilities with real-world biology needs, while managing multi-stakeholder projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machine learning and software engineering experience.
• Strong engineering foundation with Python proficiency.
• Experience building with LLMs, AI/ML systems, agent architectures, or AI-enabled apps.
• MS in science or equivalent research experience in an academic lab or life sciences company.
• Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats.
• Proven ability to teach, coach, mentor, or train technical or scientific audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform cutting edge research by applying AI to biological research problems in collaboration with post-doctoral Fellows and other researchers.
• Teach Fellows and collaborators to build, adapt, and use AI tools in their research with ongoing coaching and support.
• Develop and deliver practical technical instruction, workshops, and curriculum to help researchers work with AI agents and related tools.
