Job summary

Gravie is seeking a senior AI architect to lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI agent systems within our healthcare-focused platform. You will shape technical direction, own architecture decisions, and collaborate with engineers, product, data, security, and infra teams.

You will mentor engineers, establish standards for cloud, CI/CD, observability, and safety, and translate complex AI concepts into practical, scalable solutions that improve reliability and user experience.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in software engineering with technical leadership of distributed systems.
  • Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating production AI apps.
  • Hands-on agentic software development with AI coding agents to plan and iteratively code.
  • Deep expertise in Python backend and/or React + TypeScript.
  • Experience with retrieval, embeddings, memory, evaluation, or AI agent architectures.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, reliability, and production ops.
  • Demonstrated experience designing evaluation, testing, monitoring, and continual-improvement practices for AI systems.
  • Strong understanding of security, privacy, access control, data governance, auditability, and compliance for AI systems.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, align stakeholders, and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build production-grade AI agent systems, including multi-agent workflows and orchestration layers.
  • Design retrieval, context, and memory architectures for reliable multi-step workflows.
  • Lead the development of AI-powered decision-support systems with accuracy and explainability.
  • Architect distributed services, event-driven workers, pipelines, state management and APIs.
  • Guide development of intuitive experiences using React and TypeScript.
  • Establish patterns for AI quality and safety, including automated evaluations and monitoring.
  • Define standards for deploying and operating AI-enabled systems via CI/CD and cloud infra.
  • Mentor senior engineers, lead architecture reviews, and shape technical roadmaps.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Engineering, Product, Data, Security, Infra and business stakeholders.
  • Set technical direction for Gravie’s AI-enabled products and shared capabilities.
