Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the AI Enablement team's capabilities. You will own a technical domain, architect MCP servers, and deploy AI-powered agents within FedRAMP boundaries.

You will explore AI tools, document best practices, and mentor engineers while aligning engineering work with security standards and product needs. Remote-friendly US-based role with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

4+ years of related software development experience.
Strong proficiency in back-end services, proxy servers, and API integrations.
Experience with Python, Go, or TypeScript preferred.
Extensive experience using AI-augmented IDEs (Cursor, Claude Code).
Ability to translate complex technical implementations into clear documentation for engineers.

Responsibilities

Own specific technical domain (e.g., MCP server infrastructure).
Architect and maintain internal MCP servers and deploy cloud-hosted autonomous agents.
Deliver scalable software solutions with sustainable, reusable design.
Conduct spikes on AI tools to ensure compatibility with security standards.
Create playbooks and standardize AI usage to reduce KTLO (bugs, CVEs, migrations).
Serve as a tactical consultant for product teams to integrate AI into workflows.
Define metrics to measure AI impact on velocity and code quality.
Mentor engineers through reviews and share successful AI use cases.
