Job summary

Socotra, Inc. is looking for a Software Architect to define and drive the next stage of architecture for the Avalara Tax Research platform. You will own and evolve the architecture, focusing on scalable and secure designs while driving measurable improvements in platform reliability.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software architecture and cloud-based platforms, and will lead efforts to improve delivery speed and operational reliability across ATR.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in software architecture.
• Experience designing and evolving SaaS systems in production.
• Deep experience with service-oriented and distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the end-to-end architecture for ATR.
• Define secure, cloud-based architecture patterns.
• Drive decisions on service boundaries and APIs.
