Job summary

Aderant is seeking an accomplished software architect to own the end-to-end platform architecture for a SaaS product serving law firms and professional services. You will shape data modeling on MongoDB, tenant isolation, AI-enabled features, and scalable CI/CD for a multi-tenant environment.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional software engineering experience, incl. 3+ years at staff/principal/architect level.
Ownership of architecture of a production SaaS product at scale.
Experience taking a new platform from initial design to production.
Experience handling sensitive personal data under real compliance obligations.
Track record of raising technical quality across teams you did not manage.
Proficiency in TypeScript and Node for production services.
Deep MongoDB expertise: document modeling, indexing, aggregation, and schema migration.
Production operations experience incl. replica sets, sharding, and performance profiling.
Strong React proficiency and API design across REST and gRPC, incl. versioning.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end architecture, including service decomposition, API strategy, and platform foundations.
Own MongoDB data architecture, including document modeling, indexing, and tenant isolation.
Lead data migration and coexistence strategy for legacy products.
Define architecture for AI-enabled features, including model selection and evaluation.
Architect a deeply configurable product without fragmentation and regression risk.
Define data privacy and access control architecture, including RBAC and auditability.
Lead architecture/design reviews and promote Continuous Delivery and AI-assisted development.
Hands-on engineering: build and ship TS/Node services and React fronts.
Design schemas and indexes for real-world query patterns and analytics pipelines.
Build integrations with HRIS/payroll, SSO, recruiting feeds; enable LLM-backed capabilities.
Design event-driven workflows using SQS, Step Functions, Lambda; support seasonal workloads.
Participate in on-call and incident response; mentor engineers; collaborate with PM/UX/QA.
