GovCIO is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to design, build, and deliver modern federal applications with intuitive UIs, AWS cloud backends, and AI-powered features. This hands-on role focuses on production software on AWS and AI-driven systems, mentoring junior engineers and shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or commensurate experience.
• VA software delivery experience is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust / VA Tier 2 background.
• Experience handling sensitive information (PII/PHI).
• Track record of delivering features from requirements to production and supporting them.
• Proficient with Git, GitHub, and JIRA including workflows.

Responsibilities

• Designs, architects, and codes apps using React/Redux frontend and Python backend on AWS.
• Builds Intelligent Document Processing systems with generative AI foundations.
• Owns significant portions of the solution end-to-end.
• Documents design decisions and tradeoffs.
• Develops prompt/context strategies and evaluates extraction results against ground truth.
• Maintains extraction schemas and data dictionaries across systems.
• Modernizes existing apps and operational programs.
• Analyzes system factors and recommends approaches.
