Job summary

Mathspace is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to lead hands-on security work across our product, cloud and company systems. This is a full‑time, mostly remote role, with at least six months a year in Cyprus, reporting to the CTO.

You will drive AI‑first automation to defend a growing platform, prepare for SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and collaborate with engineers and specialists as needed. Our team is fully remote across Sydney, the Philippines and Europe, with the Cyprus HQ and options to work from

Qualifications

• Solid experience in cloud and web application security, ideally with AWS and Python.
• AI-native way of working; know risks like prompt injection and data leakage.
• Clear communication with engineers and leadership; good judgement.
• Comfortable working independently in a small team.
• Ability to work at least six months a year from Cyprus.

Responsibilities

• Map attack surface and fix risks in code, cloud configuration and the build pipeline.
• Build AI-assisted workflows for triage, code review and evidence collection.
• Tighten SSO, MFA, privileged access, onboarding and offboarding; improve device management.
• Improve monitoring, respond to threats, and develop incident playbooks.
• Run a SOC 2 / ISO 27001 gap assessment and automate evidence.
