Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking deep AI architects to join AI Labs, evaluating technologies before acquisitions or investments and accelerating portfolio companies after deals.

You will provide independent technical depth during diligence and help build common DeepTech capabilities for portfolio use. You will interview and score talent, assess build-vs-buy decisions, and translate risks into clear recommendations for AI Labs leadership.

Qualifications

• Principal/Distinguished-level engineering or architecture experience in AI and ML.
• Deep understanding of modern AI architectures, models, training/inference, data and infra.
• Ability to rapidly understand unfamiliar technical stacks and differentiate true differentiation.
• Experience with startup/founder-led engineering teams is a plus.
• Strong technical judgment combined with product taste and pragmatic business thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and AI diligence for potential acquisitions and investments.
• Critically evaluate architecture, data strategy, infrastructure, security and scalability.
• Interview and score DeepTech talent.
• Assess build-vs-buy questions and defensibility of technology, team and IP.
• Partner with founders, CTOs, and engineering leaders during diligence.
• Identify technical risks and translate into actionable recommendations.
• Promote shared AI technologies and evaluation frameworks across portfolio companies.
• Define capabilities to be built across AI Labs to maximize leverage.
