Job summary

Smartsheet is hiring a senior engineer to lead complex, multi-system AI deployments, owning the full engagement lifecycle from discovery to production. You will architect multi-agent solutions, design MCP resource packs, and build Deployment Kits for a large network of consultants and partners.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive the intelligence loop, and contribute to platform improvements. 6–10+ years in production software, deep Python, and 3+ years deploying AI/ML are required.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years production software engineering with 3+ years deploying AI/ML to production
• Deep Python proficiency and strong TypeScript/JavaScript
• Proven track record leading complex enterprise technical engagements and managing customer relationships
• Deep production LLM experience: multi-agent orchestration, MCP/tool-use, RAG optimisation
• System architecture spanning enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure and explainable AI services
• Able to create reusable technical assets and work as a platform thinker
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to produce runbooks, memos and training materials
• Willingness to travel 25–50% domestically and internationally
• Eligible to work in the US

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end multi-system AI deployments, architect and manage customer relationships
• Own the AI workshop program and translate outputs into production requirements
• Architect multi-agent solutions and design client-specific MCP resource packs
• Develop Deployment Kits and ensure high-quality documentation for non-engineering users
• Lead enablement sprints and transfer deployment patterns to solutions consultants
• Drive the intelligence loop with strategic memos, field findings, and platform improvements
• Mentor junior engineers on engagements, code reviews, and deployment kit quality
