Job summary

Vizient seeks a hands-on senior data engineer to build and enhance a modern, AI-ready data enablement platform. You will enable analytics teams via guided pathways, reusable accelerators, and governance-focused data products across the enterprise.

As a senior contributor, you will own platform engineering, data transformation, and release practices, collaborating with governance, analytics, and business teams to scale data product delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on data engineering experience building production data platforms.
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL, and dbt.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and release management practices.
• Knowledge of lakehouse architecture, governance, and lineage practices.
• Ability to work as a senior contributor with ownership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable data engineering solutions using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Unity Catalog.
• Improve orchestration and operational patterns with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Develop reusable accelerators and deployment automation templates.
• Design dbt models, tests, and documentation for governed data products.
• Guide technology choices across dbt, Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Spark, and Starburst/Trino.
• Transform source data into trusted, reusable derivative data products for analytics.
