Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - AI for the CoCounsel International team. You will build backend services in Python using FastAPI and PostgreSQL to support AI agents and large-scale data flows for international products.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade agentic AI workflows.
• Excellent debugging skills and ability to deliver reliable systems.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered backend systems and real-time AI interactions.
• Shape platform architecture with scalable service boundaries and interfaces.
• Productionize AI capabilities by integrating with LLM providers and implementing guardrails and observability.
• Collaborate with Labs, product managers, and designers to ship scalable features.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing.
