Thomson Reuters in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – AI to build backend services for agentic AI workflows within CoCounsel. You will translate early concepts into scalable, production-ready features powering our Litigation Drafting products.

You will work with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and cloud services, influence platform architecture, mentor teammates, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver reliable, secure AI-powered solutions.

Qualifications

4+ years of professional software engineering experience building production backend systems.
Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS or Azure cloud services.
Excellent debugging skills and ability to deliver production-ready, reliable systems.
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Build AI-Powered Backend Systems: design and build backend services to support real-time AI interactions.
Shape Platform Architecture: define service boundaries and scalable design patterns.
Productionize AI Capabilities: integrate with LLM providers and strengthen CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: partner with Labs, product managers, and designers to productionize features.
