Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is hiring a Backend AI Software Integration Engineer in Santa Clara to build a multi-tenant GenAI Security Platform. You will focus on Python-based backend services, REST/gRPC APIs, and data ingestion hooks to embed Prisma AIRS across enterprise AI pipelines and partner architectures.

Responsibilities include designing high-performance microservices, integrating LLM APIs, and creating secure AI workloads with middleware and gateways. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Software Engineering or Systems Integration with backend focus.
• Mastery of Python for asynchronous services and API frameworks (FastAPI/Flask)
• Experience building enterprise APIs (REST, gRPC) and API gateways (Envoy, Kong)
• Data format mapping and transformation between systems
• Experience with middleware, webhooks, and retry logic for high-volume traffic
• Experience integrating LLM APIs, vector storage, and agentic protocols/frameworks
• Ability to create architecture blueprints and secure AI workloads against prompts
• Experience with PyTest or unittest and distributed systems testing

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Python microservices and APIs.
• Develop data ingestion endpoints, webhook receivers, and integration hooks for AI pipelines.
• Create middleware logic and AI Gateways to connect model providers and agent frameworks with security controls.
• Draft architecture diagrams and integration blueprints for Prisma AIRS components.
• Build automated LLM probing pipelines and expose telemetry endpoints to dashboards/SIEM.
• Review partner software architectures and provide SDKs or documentation to speed onboarding.
