Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is building a brand-new AIRS initiative focused on AI/ML infrastructure and high-performance distributed backends. You will lead architecture from the ground up as a senior technical leader, shaping scalable control planes and microservices in a hybrid on-site role at our Santa Clara headquarters.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, with 8+ years in backend/cloud services.
• Strong programming skills in Go or Python.
• Experience building/restful APIs, gRPC services, and event-driven microservices.
• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs serving as the backbone for the new security platform.
• Develop the control plane to orchestrate security policies and deployments across distributed environments.
• Write clean, secure code with a focus on reliability at scale (Go or Python).
• Architect and deploy microservices using Kubernetes on GCP infrastructure.
• Build integration layers between high-speed data planes and management consoles.
• Promote engineering best practices including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
