Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – AI to join the CoCounsel International team and help build backend services for AI agents and LLM orchestration for international products.

You will collaborate with Labs, product managers, and designers to take AI concepts to production-ready features for legal professionals worldwide, mentoring engineers and shaping scalable platform architecture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production backend systems, APIs, and microservices.
• Strong proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS cloud services.
• Experience designing and deploying production-grade agentic AI workflows with multi-step reasoning and LLM orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-Powered Backend Systems and real-time AI interactions at scale.
• Shape platform architecture and service boundaries for scalable AI capabilities.
• Integrate backend systems with LLM providers and ensure reliability, observability, and guardrails.
