Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, AI to architect and deliver AI-driven enterprise systems across legal, tax, risk, and compliance domains. The role involves AI orchestration, RAG pipelines, and AI agents, with full-stack responsibilities from gateways to modern web UIs.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive MLOps governance while collaborating with researchers, product, and design in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in senior/lead roles focused on AI/ML.
• Experience with Generative AI, RAG, or LLMs—covering discovery, architecture, agents, deployment, lifecycle, and metrics.
• Strong backend and API development experience; proficient in OO programming and AI/ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead enterprise-scale AI systems, including multi-component pipelines and autonomous agents.
• Oversee evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge AI techniques; translate research into roadmaps.
• Provide senior technical leadership; mentor engineers; champion MLOps and governance for AI models.
• Ensure testing, monitoring, and security for AI systems; ensure regulatory compliance and ethical AI practices.
