Job summary

Plains is seeking a Senior Advisor, AI Engineering to design, build, and guide the implementation of AI-enabled solutions, with strong emphasis on Retrieval Augmented Generation, agent-style orchestration, and enterprise integration. You'll partner with Platform teams and Product Owners to shape solution designs, patterns, and delivery approaches for AI-driven capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Senior level experience in software engineering with production grade systems.
Experience leading or influencing technical design decisions across complex solutions.
Hands on experience building backend services and APIs.
Experience with cloud platforms and data governance.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design of AI enabled applications supporting enterprise workflows.
Define patterns for Retrieval Augmented Generation and data ingestion and embedding strategies.
Design orchestration approaches for AI apps including tool calling and agent workflows.
Ensure AI solutions align with security, governance, and cloud standards.
Mentor engineers and drive architectural quality across the team.
