Job summary

Uphold is seeking a Senior Agentic Engineer to design and build agentic development infrastructure that powers our AI-native approach to software delivery. You’ll architect orchestration layers, automation pipelines, and tooling to enable AI agents to participate meaningfully in engineering workflows.

We are rebuilding how software ships at Uphold and you’ll turn architecture into production systems that multiply engineers’ output while ensuring reliability, security, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong fundamentals in system design and architecture.
• Hands-on production experience with agentic AI frameworks and modern AI coding assistants integrated into daily workflow.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and infrastructure automation.
• Comfort working in ambiguous, rapidly evolving problem spaces where you’re defining the approach as you go.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document systems clearly across teams.
• A builder’s mindset; shipping a working V1 and iterating.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain agentic orchestration systems coordinating AI agents across code generation, testing, review, and deployment stages.
• Design and implement feedback loops, guardrails, and quality gates for production-ready agentic output in fintech environments.
• Develop internal tooling and developer experience improvements for wider engineering accessibility.
• Iterate pipeline architecture through experiments and measure impact on throughput.
• Collaborate with the Agentic Engineering Lead to translate AI goals into shippable systems.
• Evaluate and integrate AI models and coding assistants suitable for Uphold’s stack and domain.
• Instrument and monitor agentic systems for reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
