Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Senior Principal Agentic AI Full Stack Software Engineer to support its AI team in Crystal City, VA. You will design, deploy, and sustain critical components of our AI analytics stack, including analytic frontends, production APIs, interfaces between AI workflow components, and the underlying data layer.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in clean, maintainable Python code.
• Experience building AI-enabled web apps with Streamlit or similar.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, containerization, RESTful APIs, and UI development.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend solutions with Python frameworks.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Docker proficiency; Kubernetes a plus.
• Git version control and collaborative software development workflows.
• Hands-on experience with full stack development and SDLC understanding.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean Python code for AI analytics components.
• Lead design and implementation of AI-enabled web apps.
• Integrate AI workflows, prompting, RAG, tool calling.
• Design and expose FastAPI-based APIs.
• Build user interfaces for AI and data analytics.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and Docker deployments.
• Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL to ensure data integrity.
