Job summary

Yakima is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Lake Oswego, OR to lead aftermarket product design projects. You'll collaborate across design, quality, sourcing and manufacturing to create innovative solutions that meet performance and cost targets.

Responsibilities include creating CAD models, drawings and BOMs, guiding prototypes, feasibility testing and documentation, and mentoring other engineers. Strong English skills and travel readiness required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related engineering work experience.
• 3+ years of consumer product design experience preferred.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD including Surfacing and FEA.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and test methods.
• Lean manufacturing experience and offshore collaboration preferred.
• Experience with FMEA and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple contributor projects to meet cost, schedule and KPIs.
• Design innovative solutions to product needs that meet specifications.
• Create 2D drawings, 3D CAD models, BOMs, and product specifications.
• Develop and drive project schedules and budgets with the Project Manager.
• Validate designs through analysis, prototyping and testing.
