Barkan Management Company is seeking an Assistant Property Manager for a senior, affordable housing community in West Hartford, CT. You will support leasing, compliance, and daily operations, while coordinating maintenance and vendor tasks in a resident-focused environment.

The role requires strong organization, excellent communication, and a commitment to serving older adults across HUD programs, with a Monday–Friday schedule and no remote work option.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in affordable housing management.
• Experience with Section 8, HOME, LIHTC, or Housing Choice Voucher programs strongly preferred.
• Excellent organization, communication and resident-relations skills.

Responsabilités

• Handle rent/subsidy collection, posting, and deposits timely.
• Support leasing, recertifications, and move-ins/outs with proper documentation.
• Coordinate maintenance, vendor management, and compliance reporting.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and HUD-related deadlines.
