Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a mechanical/aero-thermal engineer to design and analyze aerothermal combustion systems for gas turbines, applying CFD tools and 1D models.

You will own combustion flowpath design, validate tests, and work with cross-functional teams to optimize sub-systems, drive lean improvements, and lead technical reviews. A bachelor’s in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience in heat transfer or combustion

Responsibilities

• Design & Analysis: Execute aerothermal design and analysis (1D Flow Models, CFD and emissions analysis) for gas turbine combustion systems.
• Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of combustion flowpath design; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for operability, emissions and dynamics behaviors
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, mechanical engineers, systems engineers, services engineering and applications engineering to optimize sub-systems and components.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve operability and design. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
• Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
• Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.
