Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a mechanical/aerospace engineer with gas turbine combustor experience to own aerothermal design aspects of combustion systems for industrial gas turbines. The role involves hands-on and desk work across design hand-calcs, flow modeling, lab work, CFD, high-temperature testing, data reduction, and presenting results.

Responsibilities include designing combustion systems to meet product requirements, documenting results, and upholding safety, quality, delivery, and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 4 years engineering experience in the industry.
• Masters degree strongly preferred in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of gas turbine design experience and 3 years in combustion design.

Responsibilities

• Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
• Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard methods using hand calculations and test data.
• Make autonomous decisions within a defined framework and consult senior staff as needed.
• Document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
• Protect GE Vernova IP and align with safety, quality, delivery, and cost priorities.
• Collaborate with a co-located team to develop engineering solutions using experience and data.
