Job summary

United Launch Alliance, LLC. seeks an experienced tooling engineer to lead the design and development of aerospace tooling and fixtures for advanced manufacturing.

You will create 3D models, GD&T, and documentation, while coordinating with ME, M&P, Quality, and Production to ensure safety and manufacturability. You will drive root-cause analysis, manage tooling projects, and mentor junior engineers, contributing to continuous improvement and lean tooling strategies in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 6 years engineering experience with tooling emphasis.
• Strong CAD proficiency (Creo, NX, or CATIA).
• Designing lifting/handling fixtures, assembly jigs, and precision tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and development of tooling and fixtures for aerospace manufacturing.
• Create 3D models, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analyses, and specifications.
• Provide technical oversight during fabrication, tool buyoff, installation, and production support.
• Collaborate with ME, M&P, Quality, Production, and Launch Ops to meet safety and manufacturability goals.
• Conduct tolerance stackups and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Drive root-cause investigations for tooling-related issues affecting production.
• Manage projects with schedule, cost estimates, and supplier coordination.
• Support continuous improvement, lean tooling, and workflow optimization.
• Ensure tooling compliance with ASME, OSHA, and aerospace standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance across tooling teams.
