Job summary

Skyeton is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to develop, qualify, and monitor supplier performance for aerospace components. This hands-on role requires site engagement, robust engineering judgment, and disciplined corrective actions to ensure AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance and delivery readiness.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to reduce supplier risk, improve capability, and protect production continuity at a Fayetteville, NC site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering or related).
• 5+ years of supplier quality or related aerospace/defense experience.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102 First Article, corrective action, root-cause analysis, and risk-based quality management.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, capability assessments, and supplier performance evaluations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, tolerances, BOMs, and inspection plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify new suppliers via capability assessments, risk reviews, and audits.
• Maintain supplier approval status, risk classifications, and quality records.
• Lead supplier nonconformance investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor supplier performance using quality, delivery, and risk metrics; communicate trends.
• Conduct on-site supplier audits, source inspections, and production-readiness assessments.
• Support incoming inspection planning based on supplier risk and product criticality.
