Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Decatur, Alabama, seeks a Major Structures Engineering Leader to direct an engineering organization supporting tank fabrication, welds, and major structures. You will drive hardware certification, issue resolution, and continuous improvement to enable safe and efficient production.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 8+ years of relevant experience, and 4+ years in management, with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college/university.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience plus 4 years of management/leadership experience leading teams.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in development, production, or sustainment of complex aerospace/high-rate production.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and resolving complex issues.
• Experience in production/manufacturing environments integrating engineering across Operations, Quality, and technical groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering organization supporting tank fabrication, weld, major structural assemblies, and composite structures.
• Provide engineering leadership across hardware fabrication, inspection, acceptance, and certification.
• Partner with Operations and Quality to align priorities with production needs and business goals.
• Resolve technical issues affecting safety, quality, cost, schedule, and certification in a timely manner.
• Integrate engineering, materials, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain and other teams to resolve complex issues.
