Job summary

Kaleidoscope in Baltimore is seeking a senior Quality Engineer to lead cross‑department quality initiatives, act as SME on design controls, risk management, and process improvements in aerospace projects.

You will develop and review PFMEA, APQP and PPAP deliverables, drive RCCA investigations, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA requirements, collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or related engineering field.
• 8+ years of aerospace structures / Nacelle quality or manufacturing experience.
• 4+ dedicated Aerospace experience.
• Hands on experience on PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).
• Develop APQP/PPAP deliverables.
• Root Cause Analysis using RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, 5 WHYs, 8D).
• Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control.
• Create and review quality control plans and flow charts.
• Understanding of ISO9000 or AS9100, FAA Part 21 and structural conformity.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross‑department collaboration on quality initiatives.
• Consult on projects, providing expertise on quality, design controls, and risk.
• Develop and maintain PFMEA, APQP, and PPAP artifacts.
• Drive RCCA investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/FAA requirements and vehicle structures guidelines.
