Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive scope, schedules, and resource allocation for defense propulsion initiatives. You will own on-time delivery of milestones and coordinate cross-functional input from engineering, operations, and leadership.

You will manage budgets and risks, produce project reviews for executives, and serve as the internal liaison for technical teams. A Bachelor’s in engineering and 5+ years of tech project leadership are required; PMP is

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering).
5+ years of experience in technical project management, engineering project leadership, or internal initiative delivery.
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and internal security requirements.
Proven track record of managing complex technical projects within defense, national security, aerospace, or high-tech hardware environments.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams of technical peers to bring integrated products/systems from concept to operational readiness.
Adaptive and introspective, willing to learn, teach, lead, and follow within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Drives internal project progress from initiation through closure.
Manages internal stakeholder relationships across engineering, operations, and leadership.
Defines objectives, success metrics, and aligns cross-functional resources.
Owns project budget, timeline, and reports on health to leadership.
Coordinates cross-departmental inputs and manages change control.
Tracks risks and opportunities, driving mitigation plans.
Identifies process improvements to boost efficiency.
Leads teams to meet milestones and deliverables.
Serves as internal POC for cross-functional initiatives.
Coordinates technical documentation and reports with SMEs.
Supports cost estimation and trade studies.
