Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Hawthorne, CA to help transfer the E‑2 engine from development to production. You will create manufacturing plans, procedures, and work instructions while collaborating with design and engineering to optimize for high performance and low cost.

You will own MBOM transitions to MES, support shop layout, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires hands‑on assembly, testing, and strong problem‑solving abilities to meet critical mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency in GD&T and creating/managing manufacturing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturability and assembly processes for E‑2 engine.
• Create and maintain manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions for consistent production.
• Own MBOM transition to MES and support shop layout.
• Document and lead Manufacturing and Test Readiness Reviews.
• Hands‑on assembly, integration, and testing of components per specifications.
