Job summary

Vast Space Llc in Hawthorne, California is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help create the world’s highest performing engine for small launchers while optimizing for production and cost. You will join a team transitioning from development to production, focusing on manufacturability, MBOM transitions, and shop-floor improvements.

The role is full-time and exempt, with expectations to travel up to 50% and support odd hours as mission milestones require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design to assess manufacturability of E-2 engine.
• Create manufacturing plans, procedures, and work instructions.
• Own MBOM transition to MES.
• Support manufacturing and assembly shop layout.
• Document and hold Manufacturing and Test Readiness Reviews.
• Perform assembly, integration, and testing per specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvements on the shop floor.
