Sigil Partners in Nashville seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specs, quality standards, and production goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related technical field.
  • 8-10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in production environments.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing and aircraft machining/assembly preferred.
  • Experience with process development, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes and methods using product design knowledge, materials, tooling, and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, increase throughput, and enhance production efficiency.
  • Support failure analysis and root-cause investigations for non-conforming products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and R&D on capabilities and production requirements.
  • Support RFIs and RFQs by estimating production times, staffing needs, and costs.
  • Coordinate with R&D/Engineering on designs and tooling for efficient processes.
  • Analyze workforce and equipment utilization and layout to optimize flow.
  • Develop and validate equipment and workspace layouts to support production.
  • Perform cost justification and feasibility analyses for new equipment and tooling.
  • Install and validate processes in production environments following validation procedures.
  • Implement process improvements to increase yield and reduce cycle times.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance for manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide hands-on training to staff on new processes and tooling.
  • Coordinate manufacturing launches and assess outcomes.
  • Conduct time studies to establish processing times and efficiency.
  • Develop manufacturing metrics and data standards to monitor performance.
  • Perform testing and analyze manufacturing data to document results.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
