Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead aerospace lighting system designs. You will work across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to sustain or develop //products and to ensure DO-160 compliance.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years, and strong CAD skills (CATIA/SolidWorks) for 3D modeling in an aerospace context.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 5 years of experience (or advanced degree with 3 years).
• U.S. citizenship required for program access.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools and manufacturing methods.
• Familiarity with aerospace design processes is preferred (DO-160).

Responsibilities

• Lead aerospace lighting system mechanical designs in 3D CAD.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Create and maintain technical/manufacturing documentation.
• Perform or lead analyses (FEA/thermal).
• Coordinate with vendors and customers to ensure specs and compliance.
• Assist with estimates and development strategies; support cost targets.
