Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Lead Technician, Electrical/Mechanical Designer to join our design team. You will perform complex technical tasks, create precision mechanical or electrical design layouts, and mentor junior designers under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with 3D CAD software packages (NX, Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, etc.) is required; Siemens NX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create precision mechanical or electrical design layouts from instructions, sketches, or existing hardware.
• Prepare records for release of design data into the company data/document control systems.
• Mentor new mechanical designers or engineers in design database and documentation release processes.
• Apply standards during preparation of hardware design and documentation.
• Prepare technical documentation for release into the documentation control system.
• Support revisions and validation of design artifacts within the change control framework.
