Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Aerospace Systems Engineer to lead requirements decomposition from customer needs to testable designs and to develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements.

You will design hardware, software, and interface specifications, coordinate with suppliers and labs, mentor junior engineers, and support cross-functional aerospace programs across fighters, trainers, unmanned systems, and weapon systems. U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical) or related field.
• Willing to relocate to the St. Louis, Missouri region.
• Level 2: 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s.
• Level 3: 5+ years of related experience.
• Level 4: 9+ years of related experience.
• Experience in the aerospace industry.
• Experience within a design/build or test team.
• Experience creating and maintaining engineering processes.
• Experience with electronic/electrical system design or test plan development.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements decomposition and traceability from customer needs to testable designs.
• Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements.
• Design hardware, software, and interface specifications.
• Develop statements of work and technical performance specifications.
• Translate customer requirements into system architectures and interfaces.
• Define test and validation approaches for requirements.
• Troubleshoot integration across hardware and software lifecycles.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.
• Work on aerospace programs across fighters, trainers, and unmanned systems.
