Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to own design, manufacturing, and integration of electronics powering our ground support equipment for air defense platforms. You will partner with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-reliability hardware and advance architecture.

Responsibilities include harness design, PCB layout, board bring-up, EMI/EMC, and qualification testing in lab and field; you will drive manufacturability and supplier coordination for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• Strong experience with Altium Designer or similar CAD system.
• Proficiency in high-speed digital electronics, embedded MCUs, RF, and power electronics.
• Experience with CAN, SPI, UART, I2C and sensor integration in aerospace/defense contexts.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC, environmental design constraints, and hardware qualification.

Responsibilities

• Own design and manufacturing processes for harnesses for vehicle platforms.
• Support design of embedded vehicle systems including power, compute, sensing, actuation, and communication subsystems.
• Serve as primary contact for manufacturing issues on electrical assemblies.
• Determine layer stackup, component selection, routing, and signal integrity for PCBs.
• Create and release fabrication documentation for PCBs.
• Own schematic design, PCB layout, and design reviews.
• Manage board-level bring-up, debugging, and validation in lab and field tests.
• Guide board-level manufacturing, testing, and assembly with internal and external vendors.
• Establish test procedures for validation and environmental/EMC/ESD qualification.
