An employer is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced airborne mission systems for a defense program. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment focused on requirements development, system architecture, functional decomposition, and technical planning to ensure complex systems are designed to meet customer and mission needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, customers, and program leadership to capture and manage requirements, develop system-level architectures, define interfaces, and allocate requirements across hardware, software, RF, and mission system components. Responsibilities include supporting technical reviews, requirements traceability, risk management, trade studies, and the development of system specifications and engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This position requires an active DoD security clearance and is ideal for an engineer with experience in systems engineering, requirements management, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), architecture development, and technical leadership within complex defense or aerospace programs. Candidates with experience supporting electronic warfare, mission systems, avionics, communications, or open systems architectures are highly desired. This role is offering $65-85/hr.
3-15 years of Systems Engineering experience in an Aerospace/Defense setting Bachelors of Engineering in a relevant discipline (ideally mechanical or electrical focus) Model-Based Systems Engineering experience Exposure to a heavy deliverable-based environment
