Job summary

RTX's Compression Systems Engineering is seeking a mechanical design engineer in Middletown, CT. You will design across the full cycle for Fan/LPC and HPC components, support existing MCE fleets, and develop standard work with detailed layouts and documentation.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 8+ years of design experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years. U.S. citizenship is required for data access.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 8+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
• Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with hardware, reading blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with engineering standard work and with Class I and/or II EC process.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Design support across all phases of the design cycle from preliminary to service.
• Support existing MCE fleets through enhanced component commonality and optimization.
• Expand repairability/maintainability for customers and MRO facilities.
• Develop common procedures, standard work, layouts, and supporting documentation.
• Review layouts, calculate component stack-up, and perform major cost studies.
• Coordinate with engineering to ensure project completion and provide technical leadership.
