Job summary

RTX,Pratt & Whitney's Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization, seeks a Design Engineering Manager to supervise a team of design engineers across fan/low and high pressure compressors. You will oversee preliminary and detailed design, validation, certification, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities include leading the design team, coordinating with multi-discipline groups, managing risks, coaching staff, and ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8 years of design engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in Engineering with 5 years of design engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling (UG NX) and other modeling and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design engineering team to meet program demands and supervise staff to meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Provide design oversight to multi-discipline teams balancing durability, performance, cost and weight.
• Identify and manage risks and resolve engineering problems.
• Coach and develop design engineers; recruit and manage performance.
• Develop team functional expertise to meet current and future business needs.
• Regularly evaluate staffing/resource metrics with managers and leadership; ensure resource plans.
• Travel up to 10%.
• Communicate effectively in English with customers and colleagues.
