Job summary

Crafted Staff is seeking experienced CNC machinists for a direct-hire role in aerospace manufacturing in Ogden, Utah. Candidates must independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and inspect high-precision work on Swiss lathes, CNC mills, grinders, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of directly related machining experience in high-technology manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on CNC machining and machine setup experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to make and evaluate complex precision machine setups.
• Strong blueprint, technical drawing and engineering specification interpretation.
• Experience machining parts to close and exact tolerances.
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection instruments.
• Strong machining troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in production.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC, conventional, and/or specialized machining equipment.
• Perform complex machine setups using standard and custom tooling and fixtures.
• Run multiple machines efficiently when required.
• Machine complex parts to close tolerances and precise dimensional and finish requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup and production issues.
• Adjust tooling and processes to achieve required results.
• Inspect completed parts for conformance to specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
• Contribute to lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced team members.
