Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE, Ogden Division in Ogden, UT is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate a broad range of machining operations, including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other equipment, to close tolerances per customer specifications.

Training will be provided and safety is a priority. You should have at least 2 years of machinist experience, ability to read blueprints and GD&T, and be proficient with calibrated measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and GD&T symbols
• Experience with machining to tight tolerances
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling and machining problems
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and safety rules
• Capable of basic math operations

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a broad range of machining operations, including milling, drilling, boring, sawing, tapping and grinding to close tolerances according to customer specifications.
• Set up and operate CNC Mills and lathes.
• Operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders and other specialized CNC and manual equipment.
• Use calibrated tools and measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Complete required paperwork and checklists.
• Collaborate with toolmakers, engineers, program managers and quality personnel to resolve problems.
• Perform work with a high degree of responsibility with an emphasis on safety and quality.
