Job summary

Timken is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer - Aerospace to serve as the primary technical interface between customers, sales, product engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to support the development, application and growth of aerospace plain bearing solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and aftermarket customers to identify technical requirements, recommend bearing solutions and drive business growth through engineering support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years of aerospace, bearings, or related engineering experience.
• Experience supporting customers in Applications/Product Engineering or technical support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison among aerospace stakeholders.
• Evaluate customer requirements and recommend bearing solutions.
• Perform engineering analyses and product assessments for performance and compliance.
• Provide technical support across the product lifecycle.
• Develop customized solutions with customers, OEMs, and Tier 1 suppliers.
• Support new product development with application expertise and testing.
• Collaborate with sales to identify growth opportunities and proposals.
• Lead investigations and root-cause analyses for issue resolution.
• Act as SME for aerospace bearing technologies and mentor engineers.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and quality systems; drive continuous improvement.
