Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Fluids Subsystems Responsible Engineer) to join our Air Vehicle Subsystems and Architecture team on site.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain Secret clearance; travel up to 10% may be required. You will lead engineering activities for ECS fluid systems and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience (for Principal).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM discipline with 8 years for Sr. Principal; Master’s with 6 years; PhD with 4 years.
• U.S. Citizenship is required and an active Secret clearance is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance prior to employment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools – PowerPoint, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

• Become a Responsible Engineer (RE) for the ECS fluid subsystem.
• Support supplier qualification efforts to meet program requirements.
• Support supplier contract milestones (PDR, CDR, TRR, MRA, FCA, PCA).
• Review and disposition supplier contract data deliverables.
• Occasional travel to support supplier activities, production test support, and flight test support up to 10%.
