Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA seeks a Sr Principal Engineer Aeronautical - Hydraulics Responsible Engineer (Level 4). On-site role with up to 25% travel.

You will serve as hydraulics SME, lead a small team, and coordinate with suppliers to drive subsystem improvements. The role requires a STEM degree with extensive related experience and the ability to obtain/maintain security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of related engineering experience; or a Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years.
• Experience leading diverse technical teams and working on aeronautic hydraulics systems.
• Proficient with design/analysis tools and CAD data; CATIA V5 experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (or eligibility) required.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for hydraulics subsystem and lead improvements.
• Lead a small team and coordinate with suppliers on subsystem components.
• Perform system analysis to support specialty engineering needs.
• Define and document changes to the hydraulics subsystem.
• Provide direct response to user, customer, and program leadership needs.
• Present technical briefs to users, customers, and leadership.
