Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer for Air Vehicle Configuration Design and Integration, located in El Segundo, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA.

The role emphasizes concept design, vehicle sizing, and multidisciplinary collaboration to advance advanced air vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong experience in air vehicle design, propulsion, CFD, and surface lofting, with a clear path from concept to manufacturing and flight test, and holds

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5+ years engineering experience, or Master's with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX, CATIA V5, or ProE CAD.
• Proficiency with aerodynamic analysis tools: MSES, CFD++, FUN3D, XFOIL.
• Active US Government Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Support the Configuration Design and Integration team for multiple air vehicle concepts.
• Develop parametric CAD models (Siemens NX) for conceptual sizing studies.
• Support design trade studies across aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, etc.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
