Job summary
Northrop Grumman Corp. in Redondo Beach, CA or El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer to lead air vehicle configuration design and integration efforts.
You will develop parametric CAD models using Siemens NX, perform trade studies with aerodynamics, propulsion and systems, and coordinate across disciplines to mature concepts toward manufacturing and flight testing. The role requires current US Secret clearance or higher with SAP access, and a strong background in
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR PhD with 1 year of related experience.
- Proficiency with industry standard design tools (Siemens NX, CATIA V5, ProE CAD).
- Ability to communicate and present technical material to stakeholders; MS Office proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the Configuration Design and Integration team across multiple advanced air vehicle concepts.
- Develop parametric CAD models (Siemens NX) for conceptual vehicle sizing studies.
- Trade-study tasks across aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, and performance to solve design challenges.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure vehicle design maturity from concept to manufacturing and flight test.
