Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer for Air Vehicle Configuration Design and Integration in El Segundo, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA. You will work on concepts, integration, and multi-disciplinary optimization for next‑gen air vehicles.

The role requires strong CAD and aerodynamic analysis skills, travel up to 15%, and a Secret clearance or higher. Lead a design team and contribute to cutting-edge national security projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• Master’s Degree in STEM with 3+ years or STEM PhD with 1 year experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with industry standard design tools (NX, CATIA V5, ProE).
• Active US Government Secret security clearance or higher (SAP) required before start.

Responsibilities

• Support configuration design and integration across multiple advanced air vehicle concepts.
• Develop parametric CAD models (Siemens NX) for sizing studies.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties and airframe groups to solve complex design challenges.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
