Job summary

Texas State University in San Marcos seeks a Senior Coordinator for Student Government to advise SG, develop student leaders, and support programs across the Student Involvement & Engagement unit. You will partner with executives and faculty to align student governance with university priorities.

The role emphasizes relationship building, program assessment, and event logistics while maintaining strong collaboration with Graduate House and other student leaders across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in higher education administration or related field such as counseling, student personnel, or leadership studies.
• Ability to lead and advise students leaders effectively.
• Ability to develop and lead teams, create and manage budgets, develop and execute fundraising efforts, plan strategically, assess and evaluate programs and services.
• Understanding of and vision for the important role student government plays in promoting an engaged student body.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor to Student Government and provide advising to Executive Cabinet and Judicial/Legislative Branches.
• Advising may include leadership development, training, transition planning, risk management, events logistics, recruitment and retention, evaluation of programs, and other tasks.
• Co-advise the Student Body President, Vice President, and Chief of Staff with the Executive Director for Student Involvement & Engagement.
• Attend weekly meetings and events with student leaders, including after-hours activities.
• Support Student Government services and committees.
