Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Senior Advisor for Multifamily Housing Climate Solutions to accelerate building decarbonization and resilience across NYC’s multifamily stock. Reporting to the Director Climate Financing Strategist, you will guide program strategy, stakeholder engagement, and policy development for Local Law 97 compliance.

You will lead MOCEJ’s programmatic goals, engage partners, and oversee financing tools like C-PACE/J-51R, while coordinating with city agencies and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a citywide Co-op Solutions Hub within the NYC Accelerator program to support multifamily affordable housing buildings and other buildings serving low- and moderate-income New Yorkers with Local Law 97 and other local building sustainability laws compliance.
• Provide direction and oversight to a team within the NYC Accelerator program to connect multifamily building owners and managers with technical and financial resources, tools to find service providers, and support to maximize the J-51R tax abatement and other incentives.
• Provide technical housing finance and regulatory expertise to define MOCEJ’s programmatic goals, and work to increase adoption of scalable, replicable energy efficiency and carbon reduction solutions that improve resident comfort, safety, and health.
• Develop and advance medium- and long-term goals and policy initiatives to expand resources available to multifamily housing for decarbonization and resilience, working through agency partner development, City leadership review, and engagement with State agencies.
• Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders to engage capital providers and develop targeted multifamily lending products, especially for cooperative and condominium housing.
