Job summary

Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh is seeking a Visitor Services Senior Representative to assist the Admissions Manager with cash handling and daily ticketing operations.

You will be a key contact for Admissions staff, balance transactions, and help ensure accurate daily reporting while delivering excellent guest service. This is a full-time union position with benefits and requires a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal, public relations and communication skills.
• Experience with handling cash.
• Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership ability preferred.
• Prefer one-year related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of contact for Admissions staff, providing direction and guidance.
• Balances financial transactions – runs ticketing system reports; provides change; approves refunds; prepares daily balancing paperwork; balances safes.
• Works with management to ensure appropriate staffing for Visitor Services functions and staffing levels.
• Ensures availability of currency, change, office supplies, brochures, and visitor information; maintains orderly storage and display.
• Sets high customer service standards and handles conflicts with informed decisions.
• Maintains effective daily communication about promotions, events, and procedures with staff.
• Trains new staff and monitors operations to ensure accuracy of ticketing transactions.
• Learns Group Check-in procedures and handles group payments with attention to detail.
• Completes daily duties including phone and email management and detailed daily reporting.
• Serves as a liaison across Science Center departments and performs all Visitor Services duties.
