Withum Assistant General Counsel Job Description

Withum is currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel that can be located remotely or in any of our offices nationwide. In this role, you will work directly with Withum's General Counsel to assist with a wide variety of legal work, including contract management, licensing, subpoena responses, litigation oversight, data privacy, and regulatory matters.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  1. Draft, revise, and negotiate engagement letters, master service agreements, and various contracts with clients, vendors, and third parties.
  2. Analyze and negotiate agreements to identify risks and potential exposures, working closely with General Counsel to develop legal processes and systems across the firm.
  3. Conduct legal research and analysis, and oversee related clerical tasks as needed.
  4. Collaborate with partners and team members on contracts with clients and vendors.
  5. Manage the firm's response to subpoenas, coordinating with third parties or outside counsel.
  6. Monitor laws affecting the profession, including privacy and data security laws, and provide legal advice accordingly.
  7. Participate in additional ad hoc projects as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with 6-8 years of law firm experience preferred; litigation or in-house experience a plus.
  • Good standing with the state bar.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, self-starting, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, polished and personable demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with document management software preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $150,000-$200,000. Withum offers a competitive benefits package and a bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Final offers depend on role specifics, location, and individual qualifications.

Additional Information

We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance. This position is open to remote candidates within the United States, excluding Colorado and New York.
